WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEMS THAT I NEED TO KNOW?

Please arrive 15 minutes early. Refrain from wearing any strong-smelling scents, including lotions, colognes and perfumes. We ask that you not come in if you are actively sick or could be contagious. Salt therapy is used as a prevention from getting sick: a way to boost our immune systems while healthy and to manage the symptoms from sinus and respiratory conditions. It is important, if you are coming in with a respiratory condition, to drink a lot of water before and after your session.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A SESSION?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing: preferably light colors, as the salt can show more on darker colored clothing. Socks must be worn at all times while in the salt room.

What Should I Bring?

We ask that everyone bring a pair of socks if you are not wearing any. You are welcome to bring a tablet or Kindle as many people like to read during the session. You are welcome to bring your phone into the session as long as has been silenced. We provide headphones and blankets as it can be slightly cool in the room while you relax.

What Can I expect to Feel?

During your salt session you may begin to feel a slight tickle in your throat or a release of pressure in your sinuses, causing a runny nose. This is the salt doing its job. As the salt works its way into your sinus and respiratory systems it is working as an anti-inflammatory agent, allowing the airways to open and mucus to expel. Your cough and runny nose may linger after your session or begin hours later as your airways continue to expand, allowing your body to get rid of bacteria, allergens, and mucus.

What do I do during the salt session?

As you are being taken back for your session we will ask you to remove your shoes and place your personal belongings into a locker. You will then be brought into the salt room where we will set you up with our audio introduction that will explain everything you need to know. It will then go into relaxing spa music or meditation. Once the introduction is finished you are welcome to listen to your own personal device. The lights will dim down as the session begins and will eventually turn back on to notify you that the session is over. Most people either read, rest or meditate during a session.
